The mission of the Sparta Social Studies program is to help young people develop the abilities to make informed and reasoned decisions.

Those decisions should be for personal and public good as citizens of a culturally diverse, global society. Sparta social studies provide a coordinated systematic study of the human condition. Social studies draws upon the contents of anthropology, archaeology, economics, sociology, psychology, political science, history, geography, law, and philosophy to develop a framework upon which students can gain an understanding of the present, the past and to predict the future.
