The mission of the Sparta Area School District's literacy program is to develop informed, literate, discriminating thinkers who are able to prosper in a challenging world. We further believe in the development of reading, writing, speaking, thinking, listening, and viewing strategies for meaning and enjoyment. This philosophy promotes the lifetime use of these skills as a means of accessing and expressing information in daily personal and professional life. To accomplish this, student achievement will focus on the six Wisconsin Model Academic Standards for English/Language Arts.
